Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD is still used in various industries, including architecture, construction, engineering, and graphics. Architects, surveyors, and civil engineers can use AutoCAD to produce plans and details for buildings and structures. Civil and mechanical engineers and construction site managers can use AutoCAD to design structures and machines, including generating building plans. AutoCAD is also used in mechanical design and drafting, drafting, metrology, pipefitting, and mechanical assembly, machining, and fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies. Graphic artists, illustrators, and fashion designers can use AutoCAD to create illustrations and graphics. AutoCAD is also used by motion picture and television animation studios.
AutoCAD operates on personal computers (PCs) with a central processing unit (CPU) and computer graphics chipset. The version number of AutoCAD is identified at the upper left corner of the window in the CAD display. It can be upgraded using the AutoCAD Software Center. An upgrade to a newer version of AutoCAD also requires an upgrade of the computer operating system.
The Windows and Mac AutoCAD apps run on Windows and macOS. Mobile AutoCAD for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and macOS run on Android and iOS devices. The Web AutoCAD on the cloud runs on all operating systems.
AutoCAD 2018 has been replaced by AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD LT, and AutoCAD 360. AutoCAD Architecture is a drawing tool that creates architectural, mechanical, and electrical (AME) drawings. It includes AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, and Enterprise Architect. AutoCAD Architecture lets you create 2D and 3D architectural and mechanical drawings. AutoCAD LT is a lightweight design tool that has 2D drafting features that let you quickly create drawings. AutoCAD LT includes the 2D and 3D Drafting and Raster Graphics tools. AutoCAD 360 is a web and cloud app that lets you create 360-degree, virtual reality (VR) models. AutoCAD 360 lets you create 3D drawings, build models, and view your creations in VR. All of the AutoCAD apps can be used on both Windows and macOS computers.

AutoCAD is based on the same architecture and design principles as other Autodesk software applications, such as
Autodesk’s first effort at computer-aided drafting was in 1971, when it introduced the first version of Draftsight, a computer-aided design (CAD) system for engineering, design, and drafting.
In 1981, Autodesk released AutoCAD, a CAD/CAM program that allowed users to draw, create, and view 2D and 3D images. Autodesk was the first CAD software to use the concept of workbenches, to manage the user’s collections of objects. The software also allowed for changing sizes of objects by resizing them, which meant that objects could be scaled to the size of the graphic display. This first version of AutoCAD was released for the Apple II, CP/M, Atari 8-bit family, IBM PC, DOS, MS-DOS, Macintosh, and TRS-80 platforms.
In 1986, the company released AutoCAD 3D, which added 3D modeling to the product. The company added other major product enhancements to AutoCAD 3D, including lofting, revolved faces, parametric modeling, feature-based editing, and advanced 2D plotting.
In 1993, the company introduced AutoCAD for Windows 3.0, which provided a window-based graphic interface to CAD. In 1994, the company released AutoCAD LT, a simpler and less expensive version of AutoCAD. AutoCAD LT has never used the term “Windows”, and is bundled with the source code. AutoCAD LT 2.1, released in 1999, brought some popular features to the software. In 2000, the company launched AutoCAD 2000, a successor to AutoCAD LT and the Windows version of AutoCAD.
In 2004, AutoCAD software for Microsoft Windows was installed on over 40 million personal computers. Since then, the version numbers of the software have gradually increased.
In August 2009, Autodesk launched AutoCAD 2009 for Windows, based on AutoCAD 2007. The Windows version of AutoCAD 2009 was not available for download on the Autodesk application store until December 2009. This version was released for OS X in 2011, and in March 2012, the application was released for iOS. Autodesk released a new, more user-friendly software interface for AutoCAD called “Project 2009”. This interface features a tabbed interface, allowing the user to easily navigate between tools and tasks. This software update was made available in the Aut

How can I make my git status show the contents of uncommited changes in the current file?
I’m still pretty new to git and I’ve just noticed that if I open a file that’s got uncommitted changes (just some stray spaces, not exactly valid code) then when I do a git status it will tell me about the uncommited changes, but I have no idea what to do about it. If I do a git commit the status message changes to:
Changes not staged for commit:
(use “git add…” to update what will be committed)
(use “git checkout –…” to discard changes in working directory)
(commit or discard the untracked or modified content in submodules)
Ok I guess I can handle that, but it’s the whitespace that’s bugging me. How can I make git status show the contents of the uncommitted changes in the current file and then have it exit when I do a commit?
Do a git status
